Soundscapes and Stories: How Documentaries, Interviews, and Podcasts Shape My Art
This is a simple question with a lot of different answers. What do you listen to and what helps you focus while making art?
This opens the door to a multitude of diverse responses. What fills your ears and aids your concentration in the artistic process? One of my favorite options is listening to music; which I will dedicate a future blog post since music is such a large topic. Today, I'll be discussing my selections that don't involve music.
Sometimes I enjoy nature soundscapes, white noise, and occasionally, complete silence. Today I'd like to focus on some of the videos I enjoy listening to while creating artwork. Note that in some cases, I will have something on in the background and not really pay attention while other times I am fully tuned in and paying attention.
"I'm always thinking about creating. My future starts when I wake up every morning... Every day I find something creative to do with my life." -Miles Davis
At times, I find pleasure in nature soundscapes, white noise, and occasionally, complete silence. Today, my focus shifts to the informative videos that captivate me—ranging from documentaries, philosophy, and history to intriguing stories, including those about icebergs. Delving into smaller YouTube channels, I explore obscure tales, both true and fictional. Engaging with educational programs presents a valuable opportunity for me to delve into subjects that pique my interest!
